It is defined as the absolute vapor pressure exerted by the vapors of the gasoline at 37.8 °C in a volume of air 4 times the volume of liquid.
It is the measure of volatility and vapor lock tendency of motor gasoline fuel. Sufficient RVP is needed in order to facilitate the starting of an internal combustion engine.
This property measures the vapor-lock tendency of motor gasoline in which excessive vapors are produced in the fuel line causing interruption of the supply of liquid fuel to the engine.
It also indicates the explosion and evaporation hazards of the fuel. ASTM D-323 is a standard method to measure the RVP in the laboratory. -

At a low differential temperature below 3 degree C or negative DT, HC from the gas condenses in the Amine which results in foaming in the Amine system and carryover of Amine and high differential pressure of Amine Scrubber.

The process of oil refining takes crude oil and breaks it down into oil-based products, gasoline, and petroleum through a highly dangerous purification process. While many positions require human interaction for work, the unique dangers that present itself working at an oil refinery should never be forgotten.
Working in an oil refinery is not safe but dangers can be avoided by understanding the process and following safe work practices.https://oinjurylaw.com/workplace-injury/is-it-dangerous-to-work-at-an-oil-refinery/

Oil REfineries normally run smoothly as compared to the fertilizer units but units have to be shut down owing to some mechanical breakdown, utility failure, and overhauling or cleaning of the machines or equipment.
Shutdowns due to mechanical failure or utility failure are unplanned and the unit remains down until the maintenance job is completed or utility supply has been started.On the other hand, shutdown or called as turn around normally after 5 years of period (commonly abbreviated TAR, TA or ATA) is a planned event wherein an entire process unit of a plant is taken off-stream for a long duration (more than a month) to perform equipment overhauling, cleaning, inspection, maintenance, replacement, modifications, piping work etc. TAs are non-routine, troublesome, complex, and potentially more hazardous than normal plant operations. The Job description of a chemical engineer to run the oil refinery includes;
1. Process Engineer in the Technical Services Department to support the operations department, technical calculations, efficiency monitoring of equipment, catalysts monitoring and replacement, chemical monitoring, R & D of projects, test runs, etc.
2. Plant Operations Engineer works at different positions I) as a Shift Engineer II) as a Day Engineer III) as a Unit Incharge. The operations engineer keeps the unit running through parameter monitoring at DCS and local. He handles emergencies like power failure, steam failure, feed failure, etc. He performs the tasks mainly as per operating procedures.
3. HSE Engineer (Health Safety and Environment Engineer) works for the safety of the plant. Monitor and improve the HSE standards of the plant. Train the employees to perform the jobs safely.
4. Fire Control Engineer, this role is very critical. He trains and leads the fire fighting crew in case of fire or heavy leakages at the plant.
5. Production Planning Engineer, regulates the plant loads according to the market requirements and crude oil quality.
6. Project Engineer leads the new projects like installation of new plants or major equipment replacement etc.
7. Operations Engineer Oil Movement, monitors and controls the inventory of products. Sometimes also lead to the shipment of the finished products.
