Wash Water Injection in Hydroprocessing Units
The feedstock of hydroprocessing units contain a sufficient amount of Sulfur and Nitrogen. These Sulfur and Nitrogen are converted to hydrogen sulfide and ammonia in the reactor. As the reactor
Challenge of Polynuclear Aromatics in Hydrocracking Units
Polynuclear aromatics (PNAs), also known as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) or polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), are a group of organic compounds that consist of fused aromatic rings. They are formed by
Feed Filtration System in Hydroprocessing Units
The feed filtration system is applied in Hydroprocessing units to remove solid particles and contaminants from the feedstock before it enters the hydroprocessing reactors. It is important to remove particulates
Impacts of High Conversion and High Severity on Hydrocracking Unit
Conversion in Hydrocracking units means how many highly valuable lighter products are produced from the residue feeds. Conversion defines the performance and severity of the hydrocracking operation, which has an
Hydrogen Management in Petroleum Refinery
Hydrogen is one of the most important elements in petroleum refineries, and is in various refining processes to upgrade the petroleum products quality. Demand for hydrogen in petroleum refineries has
What is SCADA and How Does it Work
SCADA stands for “Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition.” It is a type of industrial control system that is used to monitor and control industrial processes, such as power generation, oil
Feedforward, Feedback and Cascade Controls
Feedback Control System A feedback control system is a control system that uses measurements of the output of a system to adjust the input in order to achieve a desired
Types of Fossil Fuels
When dead plants and animals are compressed and buried for millions of years, they create fossil fuels, a sort of energy source. As a result of the intense heat and
Steam Turbine Working and Types
A steam turbine is a machine that move a rotating shaft by converting the thermal energy from pressurized steam into kinetic energy, which is subsequently changed into mechanical energy. The
