Moisture content in the diesel fuel product is an important property to be controlled before shipment or being used in the engine.
High moisture content will cause corrosion problems and microbial growth. In addition, water can reduce the lubricity property of fuel. Water in the product can be controlled below 200 ppm by applying the following methods and ensuring by lab testing;
1. Improving the efficiency of product coalescer.
2. Proper water removal from salt drier and ensuring the required quantity of salt in the salt drier.
3. Water draining from diesel storage tanks before shipment.
4. Use optimum stripping steam flow in the diesel product stripper by keeping in view the flashpoint.
